Dog friendly guidelines and information

At Porthkidney Sands

Up Trencrom Hill

Coast Path near Mullion

Two dogs are welcome to stay at The Old Chapel together with their well behaved owners. There is a charge of £25 per dog per booking.

We are able to loan a small and a medium dog crate if required. Please request these when booking. We also provide dog bowls and dog-drying towels.

We ask that dogs do not sleep on the beds. If your dog is used to spending time on the sofa please bring a throw to protect the sofas.

We request that dogs are not left alone in the property unless their owners are confident that the dog will not become distressed and bark, chew, etc.

Many local pubs and attractions are dog friendly. There are a number of dog sitting services locally who can take care of dogs for the day if the rest of the family are planning activities that aren't suitable for dogs. The local branch of the National Animal Welfare Trust near Hayle now offer day boarding. Doggy Day Care  at St Erth are very good and have a great pet shop but are increasingly busy and may not have space for new visitors.

Dog walking is available from the house along footpaths through fields, and along quiet lanes. Porthkidney Sands at Lelant is about 10-15 minutes drive away and allows dogs throughout the year. Long Rock beach near Penzance is about 15-20 minutes drive and is also dog friendly all year. Many beaches restrict access for dogs between 10am and 6 pm in July and August (Mid May-end September for Blue Flag beaches).
